I’m a research scientist and software engineer with CCC, interested in natural language processing and computational social science. I love writing search engines and worked for two of them (Lycos and Google) prior to leaving the corporate world. My current research interests are semantic search and discovery for social media data sets; topic detection and tracking of misinformation on social media; machine learning-based approaches to conversation analysis; media numeracy; and how vaccine hesitancy and access are reflected in online search behavior. I love hiking and running and being outdoors and going to live music events again some day soon. Three hobbies I’ve added during the pandemic: tennis, pourover coffee, and Oculus mini-golf.
